Argosy Buffer Tanks will never corrode and are half the weight of steel buffer tanks. These advantages can reduce labor costs on installations while being a cost effective way to improve system efficiency by reducing heat pump short cycling during low load periods and hydraulically separating the source from the distribution system. Rated to 180 degrees F at 75 PSI and 140 degrees F at 100 PSI, our NSF approved polypropylene core wrapped in a blend of continuous strand fiberglass and a high temperature resin makes the Argosy Buffer tank perfect for hydronic and geothermal heating and cooling, low mass boiler systems and chilled water applications. Argosy tanks are insulated with a closed cell foam that provides a r-value that is unmatched by the competition and has a heat loss of less than 1 degree/hour. Tanks are available in sizes of 22, 40, 55, 80, 120 gallons and all come with 4 side ports, a thermal well, vent, vacuum breaker and drain.
Operation: The primary application of a buffer tank is to reduce heat pump, chiller, or boiler short cycling. Hydronic buffer tanks are used in systems operating below the design load condition, which is most of the time, or in systems having several low BTU cooling or heating loads calling at different times. This can cause the heat pump or the boiler to short cycle, resulting in reduced operating efficiency and shorter equipment life.
What It does: The buffer tanks are built with 4 connections. Two connections can be piped to the heat pump or boiler, and two connections can be piped to the distribution system. If piped correctly, the tank can serve as both a thermal buffer and a hydraulic separator. The heat pump or boiler can be hydraulically decoupled from the distribution system.

Our warranty policy is simple; we offer a 3 year warranty on everything we sell and 10 years on our collectors. With this warranty you will get NO hassle next business day replacement (if shipping service and inventory permits). However, as a valued customer you will get technical support through the lifetime ownership of your product. Our Collector do carry longer warranties 10 years from the manufacture. The warranty cover failures that occur during normal operational conditions or manufactures defects. It does not cover failure due to inappropriate operation such as freezing or over heat. Damage caused by vandalism, storms, floods etc. Your household insurance should be modified to cover the system from such situations.

For complete solar kits please allow 2-3 weeks delivery. These kits are shipped via our preferred freight forwarder company and where possible we will schedule residential tailgate delivery (curbside).
